How to grow your audience with Zoho Campaigns

How to grow your audience with Zoho Campaigns

Email marketing is an important piece if you own or manage a website or an online shop, or in any case, if you work online. Zoho Campaigns is an email marketing platform that can help you to grow and engage with your audience.

Marketing automations are in the life of everyone. Think about when you purchase a product on Amazon, you receive an automatic email of recap of your order, and during the next days after the order you receive a reminder to write a product review.

All of these are automatic emails, so pre-built emails that triggers each time a user performs a specific action, such as build a new product or subscribe to the newsletter.

How email marketing works

The email marketing aims to create engage with a specific type of users that perform a specific action.

You can use it to create a newsletter, to create up sell or cross sell opportunities, or to follow up with a customer.

In every online activity, nowadays it’s important to have an email marketing strategy and to use the right email marketing tool.

Email marketing works through lists, in a more specific way lists are recipients of email contacts. When a contact gets inside a list, a specific email workflow assigned to that list will start, and then the contact will receive the emails related to that workflow, and all of this happens automatically.

Email marketing is very useful especially for e-commerce businesses, so if you own or manage one, it will help you to grow and engage with your customers.

Email marketing strategies

There are many email marketing strategies available out there, and some are:

  • Newsletter;
  • Product updates;
  • Up sell;
  • Cross sell.

Newsletter

A newsletter is a very common and very used email marketing strategy. Thanks to it you can structure a series of email where to tell news or stories to your subscribers.

This strategy is used to create a list of people interested to your products, and that want to know more about.

A newsletter strategy can be used to announce new products available on your online store, new services and so on.

Product updates

Another very good strategy to consider is to send out product updates to your customer list. In this way each time you have a new product related to another specific one purchased from your customers, you can send that email flow out in order to grab their attention and place another sales.

While the newsletter usually is used for both customers and not customers, the product updates strategy is used only for customers, so you should send it only to people that already know you, your products, and your company. People that have already purchased by you, have more chances to place another order related to another useful product.

Up sell

The up sell strategy is made also without email marketing. You can same this strategy in action even on Amazon, when you see the box titled “Customers buy also...”.

This strategy consists into trying to make a customer buy another related product when he buys the first one. The second products needs to be related to the first one, but not necessary to use with the first one.

So, if the customer is interested in expanding the order with a related useful product for him, he will pace that order.

Inside an email marketing strategy, a follow up email with the up sell products can be sent to the customers after their first order.

Cross sell

Cross sell is similar to up sell, and this strategy can be done even without email marketing.

It consists in showing related useful products after or during a customer purchase, in this case, products that need to be used with the first one, or that can improve the usage of the first one.

If the customer wants to improve the usage of the product already bought, he will buy even the second one.

Inside an email marketing strategy, a follow up email with the cross sell related products can be sent to the customers after their first order.

Grow your audience and automate the email marketing process

If you’re looking to implement one of these email marketing strategies, you need to automate all the entire process, and by this I mean to connect your Content Management System to Zoho Campaigns.

To do so, you need the right CMS to manage your online store, that connects with Zoho Campaigns without extra effort.

Codelia Headless CMS makes you able to do so through its Zapier integration. You can connect your Codelia account directly with your Zoho Campaign account through a NO CODE integration, so you won’t need any developer to do so.

Getting everything in place

In order to proceed, you need:

Once you’re ready with that, you can proceed to automate your email marketing with Codelia and Zoho Campaigns.

Step 1. Set up your checkout flow on Codelia

Firstly you need to structure your checkout flow by adding checkout fields, such as first name, last name, email, and all the details of your customers that you need to collect when they place an order.

Step 2. Generate an API token on Codelia

Open your site Settings & API page to create a new API token – click on the generate button to let Codelia auto generate a token. Save this token, you'll need this to connect Codelia with Zapier. Take note also of the API endpoint that you see under the API token field.

Step 3. Sign up/Sign in on Zapier

Sign up or sign in on your Zapier account. It's time to create a new Zap:

  • Inside the trigger step of new Zap creation select Codelia as app;
  • Select New Order as event in the next dropdown;
  • Connect your Codelia site by adding the site API token inside the next step. Check the API knowledge base to learn how the token works (no technical knowledge needed);
  • Setup the site API Endpoint and the element ID inside the trigger step.

For test purpose you can do it manually, or you can collect orders directly from the Codelia API.

Once a new order will be received, the associated customer with all of the details will be automatically added in your Zoho Campaigns account.
