How to Automatically Share new Products on your Instagram profile

Instagram is a good way to promote new products to an audience. Many e-commerce owners and online sellers use Instagram to post their products and reach a bigger audience to promote to, and to get more impressions and followers.

The most common e-commerce strategy consists into new product sharing on social media channels. This involves the content team and the social media team in two sides:
- The content team needs to add a new product on the online store through a CMS;
- The social media team needs to receive the content of the new product from the content team and then post it on social channels like Instagram.
This process involves two different teams to communicate and to share items and feedbacks each other, requiring time and efforts. By automating this process it's possible to involve only one team, decreasing working hours and effort, and speeding up the social media strategy. The process explained
Step 1. Create a new element on Codelia
Products are elements, like blog posts. As first step you need to create a new element on Codelia to manage your products. Assign controls to your products element and model the content structure. You can add many controls - another way to call them is input fields - to have maximum flexibility in terms of content structure. You can also group your products based on category, tags, options and more.
Step 2. Generate an API token
Navigate inside your site Settings & API page to create a new API token - simply click on the generate button and Codelia will take care of it for you. Save this token for later, you'll need this to connect Codelia with Zapier. Take note also of the API endpoint that you see under the API token field, copy it for later.
Step 3. Sign up/Sign in on Zapier
If you don't have an account on Zapier, create one. If you already have an account sign in. Now it's the moment to create a new Zap:
- Inside the trigger step of new Zap creation select Codelia as app;
- Select New Order as event in the next dropdown;
- Connect your Codelia site by adding the site API token inside the next step. Visit the API knowledge base to know how the token works (no technical knowledge needed);
- Setup the site API Endpoint inside the details step.
Now proceed to the action step:
- Select Instagram as App;
- Select Create Photo as event;
- Connect your Instagram profile;
- Setup the required extra options (image url and description);
- Publish the Zap.
Step 4. Add a new product on Codelia
It's the time to add a new product on your online store. Once added the new product will be visible on your e-commerce store and will be automatically published on your Instagram profile.
