How to automatically add a Facebook post to promote your Blog posts

How to automatically add a Facebook post to promote your Blog posts

Facebook is one of the most popular social media channels to create communities, share opinions, tips, and news about a business. It is one of the social media platforms used for content marketing strategy, in fact, usually companies share their blog posts in a Facebook post.

If you’re looking to increase your prospects, leads and to create a community for your brand and for your company, Facebook is one of the social channels that you need to consider.

Through a Facebook page is possible to share posts regarding your business, teaching relevant things to your interested users, convert them into prospects and then into sales.

If, as usual, your content marketing strategy begins with blog posts, and you’re constantly posting on your website, then creating a Facebook post from each one of your blog posts, is a good idea to use the same content and to leverage it through an omnichannel marketing strategy.

To do so, you need to publish your blog posts into a Facebook post, and instead of doing it manually, by switching between your website and your Facebook page, there is an automatic method that can save you time and efforts.

How to save up working time

Usually there are two teams that work with content inside a company: the marketing team and the social media team. Sometimes only the marketing team – or the marketer – needs to do to all the social media related stuff.

So the marketing team needs to write and publish the content through the CMS used by your company, and then the social media team needs to take the content, adapt it for the social media channels and publish it on them.

By automatically adding a new Facebook post when a new blog post is created, you free up your social media team, and your marketing team will be able to do more, while the social media team can focus on optimizing the social media channels and on the other main activities.

This process will save you working hours, and money.

Auto add a Facebook post from a new Blog post

A good content strategy means a lot of time consumed for it – for a good reason, obviously – and so, one of your first goals is to decrease the working time for you content strategy, publishing content faster and in a better way.

Imagine to write a blog post for you website on your CMS, then when you click the publish button, the blog post go live on your website and on your Facebook page as Facebook post at the same moment. All you need to do is write the content just once, and then automatically it will be published across many channels.

This process can save you hours of work by automating your content marketing strategy.

Getting everything in place

To automate your marketing, you need just a couple of tools:

  • A fast and flexible CMS that makes you able to create and manage your content and that is able to connect with your Facebook page;
  • A tool that makes the connection between the CMS and your Facebook page possible.

Codelia Headless CMS helps you to do so. It offers powerful and flexible content modeling, creation and management tools, and it integrates with your Facebook page through Zapier, to make you able to add a Facebook post each time you publish a new blog post.

As a quick recap you need:

Once you're ready with that, it's time to move forward in the process to automatically add a Facebook post from a new blog post.

Automate your Content Marketing Strategy

With Codelia and Zapier you can connect your CMS directly with your social media channels to automatically post or schedule a new post on your profile each time you add a new blog post to your website, to promote it. This integration is completely NO CODE and you don't need to code, to ask help or to hire a developer to make this happen.

Automatically add a Facebook post: The process explained

Step 1. Create a new element on Codelia

Since blog posts are elements, firstly you need to create a new element on Codelia to manage your blog posts. Model your content structure by adding controls to your blog posts element with 100% of flexibility. If you need, group your blog posts based on category, tags and much more.

Step 2. Generate an API token on Codelia

Navigate inside your site Settings & API page to create a new API token – you can click on the generate button to let Codelia auto generate a token for you. Keep note of this token for later, you'll need this to connect Codelia with Zapier. Take note also of the API endpoint that you see under the API token field, copy it for later.

Step 3. Sign up/Sign in on Zapier

If you don't have an account on Zapier, create one, or sign in if you already have one. Now it's the moment to create a new Zap:

  • Inside the trigger step of new Zap creation select Codelia as app;
  • Select New Single Element as event in the next dropdown;
  • Connect your Codelia site by adding the site API token inside the next step. Visit the API knowledge base to know how the token works (no technical knowledge needed);
  • Setup the site API Endpoint inside the details step.

Now proceed to the action step:

  • Select a specific social media or a social scheduling tool as App;
  • Select Create Facebook post - or the desired action - as event;
  • Connect your Facebook page;
  • Setup the required extra options (title, content, image etc.);
  • Publish the Zap.

Step 4. Add a new blog post on Codelia

It's the time to add a new blog post on your website. Once added the new blog post will be visible on your website and a Facebook post will be automatically added.
